The directors of the Molecular Diagnostics Group (MDG) are nominated this year as “Entrepreneur of the Year”. The annual entrepreneurial prize is an initiative of Sächsische Zeitung (Saxonian Newspaper), Freie Presse (regional newspaper), VW Saxony, PwC, LBBW Sachsen Bank, Sparkassen-Versicherung Sachsen and CongressTeam Dresden. The prize is awarded to companies which make an important contribution to economy and society by coming up with innovative ideas, products and services.

The newly set up company group consisting of qualitype GmbH, Biotype Diagnostics GmbH, Biotype Innovation GmbH as well as ROTOP Pharmaka GmbH combines expertise and resources for the progress in the field of personalized medicine.

Saxonys Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 will be chosen on 19 May at a festive awards ceremony in “Die Gläserne Manufaktur” (The Transparent Factory) of Volkswagen in Dresden. The winner receives the precious and especially for the competition designed bronze sculpture “Die Träumende” (The dreamer) of Malgorzata Chodakowska.
